As I walked back to my hotel room last night, I felt like I was forgetting something without a crowd of the village children surrounding me and all wanting to hold my hand as we walked. We are all ready to go home, but we have all left pieces of our hearts in this place.

Southeast Asia Team Update #3

2012 January 10

On the day we arrived at our homestay village, the youngest grandson of the elderly couple who is hosting us was at their home with his mother. He was running a pretty high fever. Our interpreter, who is also a national long term worker in the kingdom, asked if we would pray for the child. He also got the permission of the mother and grandmother. We prayed, and the fever began to subside within an hour! The interpreter, who often comes to this village, was able to reinforce the reality that God listens and answers when we bring our requests in the name of Jesus the Messiah.

Southeast Asia Team Update #2

2012 January 08

Yesterday, we traveled to a village that is largely occupied by the Unreached People Group the team here is targeting. We stayed in homes there last night. Each of the three groups of us had some really significant relational time with the families who hosted us. It has been a very interesting and unique experience for all of us.

Several people groups represented at the college and in the town are unreached and have no ongoing effort trying to reach them. Almost all are Muslim at least in name and cultural identity, but they are all very welcoming toward and extremely curious about us as westerners.
