Rachel CummingsStaff Member since 2011Discipleship Staff Personally speaking:From St. Charles, Mo.; fifth of seven children; bachelor's degree in studio art (College of the Ozarks) with an emphasis in graphic design and a minor in philosophy/religion. Getting to Know RachelQ: When/how did you become involved with Lightbearers? A: I was introduced to Lightbearers through Jimmy and Megan Cummings and Chris and Lauren Minor through First Baptist Church Branson in the early months of 2011. By serving on the worship team with Chris, I heard of what his wife did for her job and I was more than intrigued. After visiting the headquarters in Fayetteville and much prayer, I was offered a position. After more prayer, I was very excited to accept the opportunity. Q: What is your favorite book and/or quote? A: “Run hard. Study well. Live passionately.” -Anonymous Q: What excites you about the Lightbearers' vision? A: I get excited about the name of Jesus being shared. And then I get excited about the people who are sharing it and hearing it. Q: Other than Jesus, what Bible character would you want to have lunch with? A: John the Baptist. I’d like to join him for some locusts. But really, I would enjoy a good lunch talking with Joseph, son of Jacob. God makes beautiful things out of the dust. Q: Other than Bible characters, what three people, living or dead, would you want to have lunch with? A: I would strongly prefer to have lunch with these people alive, and not dead, otherwise I’m quite sure I would be terrified. C.S. Lewis Q: What does a fun, relaxing day look like for you? A: It would include some of the following depending on the weather and/or the place I’m in: hiking, picnic, climbing trees, reading C.S. Lewis, enjoying a smooth coffee, playing the guitar or piano, journaling, eating avocado, having a good philosophical or intellectual conversation with a friend, and painting. Oh, and meeting random people in town. Love that. |
