Lauren MinorStaff Member since 2009Campus Discipleship Coordinator, MSU Campus Personally speaking:Grew up in Chelmsford, Mass., and now lives in Branson, Mo.; married to Chris; Bachelor of Science in parks, recreation and tourism management (Clemson University). Getting to Know LaurenQ: What is your favorite book and/or quote? A: My new favorite is "Shadow of the Almighty" by Elisabeth Elliot. "The Scriptures indicate that God intends some from every tribe and tongue and people and nation to be there in the glory, sounding out the praises of the Redeemer. This is the specific indication that the Gospel must be gotten to tribes who are not yet included in the singing hosts. Hence my burden for cultural groups as yet untouched." -Jim Elliot
Q: What excites you about the Lightbearers' vision? A: The two things that excite me most are the aspects of college aged discipleship and mission work in the 10/40 window. True 2 Timothy 2:2 discipleship has the power to reach out to endless generations, as we train up our students to be biblically discipled and to disciple others. Also, I love sending our money, students, and staff to the most unreached parts of the world to bring the hope and joy of the Gospel to those that Christ has redeemed from every tribe and tongue.
Q: Other than Bible characters, what three people, living or dead, would you want to have lunch with? A: Elisabeth Elliot, Francis Chan, and my grandparents
Q: What does a fun, relaxing day look like for you? A: Spending good one-on-one time with my friends, being with my husband who makes me laugh a lot, watching a movie, and of course playing board games! |
