Julia RobinsonBoard Member since 2003Personally speaking:Born in Blytheville, Ark.; lives in Fayetteville, Ark.; married to Joe T.; two children and three grandchildren. Vocation:Teaching Leader of the Bible Study Fellowship Fayetteville Evening Women's Class Getting to Know JuliaQ: What is your favorite book and/or quote? A: Because of my vocation as a Bible Study Fellowship Teaching Leader I spend most of my time reading the Bible, Bible Commentaries, missionary biographies, or systematic theology/ doctrinal books. My life verse is Ezra 7:10: "Set your heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach His statutes." Authors who have influenced me most are Dr. James Montgomery Boice, Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. David Wells, Pastor John Piper, R.C. Sproul, Arthur Pink, Wayne Grudem, Jonathan Edwards, many of the Puritans and others who write about the doctrines of Grace.
Q: What excites you about the Lightbearers' vision? A: The Lightbearers vision is truly unique in its approach to obeying Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations. Not only do we make disciples in the United States by our ministry to college students, but we also make disciples in the 10/40 window by facilitating the ministries of our Lightbearers Partners who are living and working in the 10/40 window. Lightbearers' vision of disciple making both at home and abroad is so amazing that it is as if Jesus has commanded us to obey the Great Commission and then handed us the platform to do it on a silver platter so that we could obey it.
Q: Other than Jesus, what Bible character would you want to have lunch with? A: I would like to have lunch with Adam, whose sin caused the total depravity of the human race. As a sinner saved by grace, I would like to rejoice with Adam that both of us were chosen to display the wonders of God's plan of Redemption to the world.
Q: Other than Bible characters, what three people, living or dead, would you want to have lunch with? A: I would like to have lunch with my godly grandmother who died 35 years ago to tell her of my conversion to Christ and her influence on my life. I would like to have lunch with Jonathan Edwards' wife, Sarah, to thank her for being a godly keeper of her home so that her husband could be free to study and write. I would like to have lunch with Polycarp, the Bishop of Smyrna, who was martyred for his faith in the first century in order to thank him for his example of what it means to live and die by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Q: What does a fun, relaxing day look like for you? A: A fun relaxing day would be filled with white sandy beaches, family togetherness, and no agenda except meaningful conversation and a few mindless movies. |
